If you need to update your 2FA or any personal information on your FIU account, you can do so using ID.me, a trusted third-party verification service.
Before You Begin - Important Requirements
- You must be 18 years of age or older to use ID.me. Check out the ID.me Terms of Service for more details.
- If you are an international student, you’ll need to provide valid documentation such as a passport, visa, or another government-issued ID. You may also be asked for proof of address or legal status. Learn more in the ID.me Help Center: Verifying with a non-U.S. passport.
1. Go to the FIU ID.me portal
Visit idme.fiu.edu and enter your PantherID.
2. Sign in or create an ID.me account
- If you already have an ID.me account, log in.
- If you are creating a new account, we recommend using a personal email address (since ID.me is a third-party tool you can use beyond FIU).
3. Complete the verification process
Follow the on-screen steps to verify your identity.
- Note: If you leave the process unfinished, your session may time out. You will need to restart the verification.
4. Return to your FIU account
Once verified, you'll be redirected to account.fiu.edu, where you can update your account information (such as 2FA, personal details, etc.).
Troubleshooting
- If your session times out, restart the process from idme.fiu.edu.
- Still having issues? Submit a ticket to ASKIT or call (305-348-2284) the FIU Help Desk for support.
